No trip to India is complete without a visit to the Taj.
Built by Shah Jahan as a tomb for his favorite wife, a Persian queen named Mumtaz, this structure is one of the most stunning sites I've ever seen in my life.
The Taj is considered India's grandest symbol of love, attracting millions of newly married couples every year. So when we visited with my parents, our tour guide insisted we all pose for cheesy love shots.
And I don't think they've ever looked cuter.
Have any of you ever made the trek to Agra for a Taj visit?

Awww, I love the cheesy pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutely stunning.
Kimia, was it incredible to see something in real life that you've "seen" in pictures a million times? I'd imagine it was kind of like remembering a dream, or deja-vu.
ReplyDelete@Sam, could not have put it in better words, yes, it was exactly like remembering a dream.
ReplyDeleteThat first picture! Your parents are so cute. They look like they're a lot of fun. :]
ReplyDeleteDefinitely would be a must stop. I always wondered if there's a time of day you can go when it's practically empty.
ReplyDeleteYes - I was SO amazed! Was it larger than you anticipated? I was stunned at how much grander it was than I imagined. Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I can't wait to visit one day :) And those photos of you guys are adorable :)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love your pictures... so amazing to see such a different part of the world!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I am SO jealous! I would LOVE to see the Taj Mahal in person someday. I've actually been reading a historical fiction novel about the emperor before Shah Jahan (actually, it's about one of his wives, and I've read it before, historical fiction is hands down my favorite genre.) and the book will sometimes mention the Taj Mahal.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, love your photos!
Visiting the Taj Mahal is definitely on my bucket list of places I have to see. There's just this magical story behind it, and I can only imagine the beauty of seeing it in person. What a wonderful thing to see with your family!
ReplyDeleteCheers.
I love these, the couple pics are soo adorable. LOVE.

ReplyDeleteI've seen photos of the Taj before, but never like this–Kimia, your photos are so beautiful! And the shot of you and hubs is absolutely cracking me up. Promise me it'll get a frame!
ReplyDeleteThe Taj looks so beautiful, you convey it so well with your photos! I need to visit it before I die!

Love the photo of your parents - super cute! Isn't the Taj amazing - we made a stop in Agra just to see it - kind of a "well we are in India, and it's pretty famous", also our boys were super-keen (the ultimate tourist-attraction kids). Well I was completely and utterly blown away with just how beautiful it was. We went in the late afternoon and the light was so soft.... I'm so pleased we decided to visit. Your photos have reminded me of just how pretty it is. I hope all is well with you, Annie x
ReplyDeleteyour folks are adorable. i see where you get it from!
ReplyDeletei love my memories of my visit to the taj even though it was a million degrees back then.
I'd love to see the Taj Mahal in person one day - how beautiful! And you have the cutest parents!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the photo of you and kenny! and the one of your parents?! It looks like it's pulled out of the '70's. So timeless.
ReplyDeleteSomeday...
ReplyDeleteYou guys look adorable!
Wow. I would love to be able to visit the Taj Mahal one day.
ReplyDeletei took an art hist of india class in school and it was prbly my fave class throughout my whole college career. the architecture and art is so stunning.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so crazy to see one of the wonders in real life, after years of photographs and movies? When I went to the Taj I just couldn't believe i could actually stick my hand out and touch it. I also was so shocked at how crowded it was, yet quiet in it's own way.
