It's official friends. I have an MFA!
Our final
thesis show last night was a wild success. I sold a few paintings and was approached by 2 galleries that wanted to represent me (what?!). Unfortunately, they said they'd have to wait until I got back from India, but just the offer alone felt totally surreal.
For those of you who made it out, thank you
so much. Seeing all your beautiful faces made the night even more precious. And for those of you who couldn't get in because the line wrapped around the building (yikes!), the show is up for 1 more week.
Here's a before and after shot of the venue to give you an idea of what Ken and I have been up to the past week:
Before (that's me in the corner sanding/spackling looking like I'm in time-out):
And after (look at them smooth walls!):
I finished two new paintings in the nick of time for the show, but I haven't taken decent photos yet so you'll have to wait 'til next week to see. In the meantime, head on over to
Treasure Island and catch a glimpse in person. :)
Here's to graduations and new beginnings!
India, here. I. come.
