Cookies on a string!

Just when I thought the cookie couldn't get any better, San Francisco based bakery, Fat Cookie, proved me wrong.

"San Francisco entrepreneurs Eve, Kathleen and Clem deliver their oven fresh product to their customers below by way of an ingenious bag and string hoist."

Swanton Berry Farm + Highway 1S

So, because I was a total laze and did a whole bunch of nothing this weekend, I thought I'd share with you some pictures from last weekend. :)

When my little brother was visiting I took him to my absolute favorite spot for pie in all of California: Swanton Berry Farm (this place will change your life).

Not only is their pie amazing, but the drive there is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Highway 1S should be zoned as like a national park or something--it's unbelievably breathtaking.

Once we got there we tried a little bit of... everything. :)

From strawberry-rhubarb betties to coconut chocolate cheesecake and strawberry-apple cider, we were totally stuffed driving home.

My favorite part? They have an open cash register, so you pay on your honor. How beautiful is that? Not only do they make the best sweets in all the land, but they believe in the goodness of human beings, too.

Happy Monday!

Update from India

It might just be my imagination....

But it looks like Ken is having way too much fun without me. :) I'm moving there in 9 weeks and can hardly think about anything else, I'm so excited.

*And in case you missed it, here's why my husband is in India!

Happy weekend!

Yesss for Fridays! Have any weekend plans dear readers? I'm so happy to say that I have not one single plan.  I'm trying to be still for a while. :)

And for some weekend inspiration, this video is absolutely amazing. It features the blind photographer, Pete Eckert. His work is beautiful and his story is lovely. Enjoy.

All the single ladies!

Have any of you seen the hilarious website, Hook Chas Up? SF based Chas is a 40 something year old guy looking for his future wife.

Tired of unsuccessful experiences with online dating sites, he decided to create his own website, highlighting his likes, dislikes, and what he's looking for.

The best part of all? If you're the one that introduces him to his dream girl, the prize is $10,000.

Any single ladies out there in need of an introduction? :)

Nob Hill on Design*Sponge!

I am so thrilled about our girl Alli's feature on Design*Sponge today. Andrea Dozier's photos of her beautiful home are so dreamy (I've looked through them twice!).

And a very special thanks goes out to Alli for including my print, Nob Hill, in the post. What a great first day of spring.

ps. Alli, I am in love with the frame! And that dresser... :)

Our New Year (the first day of spring)

Happy first day of spring! Or as we Persians say, Naw Ruz, meaning "New Year." Unlike the Gregorian calendar that starts over in winter, the Persian New Year is simultaneous with the spring equinox.

If you're interested in reading about the way Persians celebrate, Aura Joon has posted a really beautiful description here. I read her post and sweet childhood memories flooded my mind.

Here are a few glimpses of our backyard right now. It's overflowing with flowers, and I'm loving every bit of it.

Welcome spring.

Yosemite Valley

We're back!

Hope you all had a wonderful week. I'm so looking forward to catching up on all your blogs.

Our Yosemite spring break getaway was totally relaxing and wonderful. My brother and I stayed at the Evergreen Lodge, which I booked through my favorite website of all time, Jetsetter (you should all sign up!).

When we checked in they randomly upgraded us to a gorgeous 3 room cabin. It was really cozy and had an adorable summer camp like feel about it. Our favorite part was that every night they gave us free smores from 7-8 pm! Score.

During the day we hiked, climbed, and took lots of misty photos. Yosemite is absolutely breathtaking in the springtime.

My brother is a really amazing photographer and is always encouraging me to switch back to film, so for this trip I dusted off my Cannon Rebel-G and started clicking away. I'm pretty much a convert at this point. Long live film!

We also got a chance to take a peek at the famous (and newly renovated) Ahwahnee Hotel. It felt like something straight out of Harry Potter.

On our way home we passed by these two historic barns that have been preserved and retrofitted. We thought they were so gorgeous and just couldn't get enough of them.

On our drive back to SF we stopped to take some shots of the windmills on 580 that I'm utterly in love with. Aren't they so bizarre and quirky?

That's a rap folks! Hope you enjoyed our photos as much as we enjoyed taking them. If you'd like to see the rest, visit my flickr page here.

And if you're planning a trip to Yosemite and want any tips/recommendations, don't hesitate to ask. :) xo.
