How amazing are these photos circa 1945? They inspire me to run out and buy a sari immediately!
I've been told by some friends in Delhi that Chennai is the silk/cotton capital of India, so I'm in the right place for a shopping spree. Just need to figure out where to go, and what not to pay. :)

ReplyDeleteso lovely. I really love too that these are in black and white while the saris are always so colorful--for some reason it adds to the mysterious beauty of it to me seeing these. I remember being so blown away by the beautiful saris when I was in India- I love the draping effect and the elegance it brings. Can't wait to see yours!

ReplyDeletei cheat and have my saris sewn so that they can be put on like a dress. i think i would spend too much time trying to get the pleats perfect...my mom, on the other hand, makes it look easy-peasy.
