Have you guys heard about the tornado that hit St. Louis' airport last night? I was actually in the air about to land when it happened. We could see lighting through the plane windows--but had no idea we were just a few miles above a tornado.
Our plane was diverted to Kansas City where I had to spend the night. Since the STL airport is closed indefinitely, I had no choice but to catch the first flight back to San Francisco. So sad!
Fortunately my brother and friends are safe and sound, but this has simply not been my week friends. Here's to brighter days.
*A big thank you to everyone who wrote asking about our safety. You folks are just too sweet.

Nice blog. :)

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I hadn't heard a thing about it until now. I guess I need to start watching the news. Glad everyone is safe and sound, but sad you missed your weekend getaway!
ReplyDeleteThank God you're safe-I could feel my heart beating faster just reading this! I had no idea the damage was so severe!
ReplyDeleteoh my word! that is crazy!! I like a few ups and downs when I fly.. just to mix it up lol but that is so scary! Glad you and your loved ones are safe!
ReplyDeleteYikes!! I hope you were able to make it back to SF safely. There were so many flight cancellations from the Midwest over the weekend, and I wondered if everything was okay.
ReplyDeleteI hiked Machu Picchu last week! South America was amazing, and I can't wait to visit again. It makes me incredibly appreciative of living in the States.
I had no idea you were in that area!! It's really hard to believe the monstrosity of it all - St. Louis doesn't seem like an area that would normally be hit, but then again, neither does North Carolina or anywhere other than Kansas and Oklahoma! Glad everyone is safe and you were able to get back to San Francisco in one piece!
ReplyDeleteGah! So glad you're safe and sound :(
ReplyDeletethat is so crazy! my brother lives in the middle of nowhere in Illinois and had tornado warnings and crazy weather the other week too. glad you're safe!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that's insane. Having missed a week around here I'm almost glad I didn't know you where headed there, I'd have worried sick! Glad to heard you & other are safe. I can't believe the natural disasters in the headlines lately...truly sad.
