Sew it down the seam

Being home for the holidays means extra time for arts & crafts. :)

I recently made these little embroidered paper cards for friends and fam.

Materials include scrap paper from bookbinding (mainly magnani pescia), embroidery thread, and a needle. Easy as pie.

I do's and updo's

This post is dedicated to my recent heroines, OnceWed and StyleMePretty.com.

Dear wonder blogs of creativity and loveliness,
I think I speak for most brides-to-be in saying, t.h.a.n.k. y.o.u. for doing what you do.

Without you how would I have found Wiley Valentine, Jose Villa, or JustCake.com?? Where would I turn for my daily dose of charm, beauty, and inspiration? You have saved me from bridal destitution. And for that Abby and Emily, I am eternally grateful.

Thought of the day

On your Mark

Stacey Mark's pictures have always been some of my favorite fashion photos. She handles light so beautifully and manages to make the images feel more like paintings than magazine fillers.

Jose Villa

Today, my friends, marks the day that all my girly wedding dreams have come true. It's official...the ever so talented Jose Villa has agreed to photograph our wedding. Get ready for a Napa engagement session first though--oh yes--our luck runneth over. This man is my personal wedding super hero. I must however, also vouch for the brilliant Tec Petaja. It was a hard decision between these two talents, but alas, Jose is in LA and Tec in Nashville (LA is significantly closer to San Francisco than Nashville). Thanks to the both of you for being such sweet guys to work with. And Jose--we'll see you in Napa.

(Tec and his beautiful wife Chelsea are the couple featured in Jose's photos above. How cute is that? Tec had Jose photograph his wedding. If I had more money, they'd both be there on May 30.)

Charming Wall

Charming Wall is a brilliant website, bringing affordable prints to one and all. Sick of shopping at Target for art? These guys can help put some decor in your home without breaking your wallet.

These prints by Bailey Saliwanchik and Treasure Fey have won my heart.

Ferraby Lionheart

For all my Nashvillites, the ever-so-talented and ceaselessly humble Ferraby Lionheart will be playing a special New Years Show JAN. 2 at The Basement.

I have loved Sir Lionheart's music from the first time Maxcia played me "Tickets to Crickets" on her computer 3 years ago. His is a show not to be missed.

The Mission

Inspired by a combination of our beloved "mission" district in San Francisco, and a photograph taken by Luis Braga, this little painting was my first California sale thanks to NYAXE Gallery in Palo Alto.
